These terms cover your use of Online Notepad Tool and the editors on it. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

What the service is

Online Notepad Tool provides free text editors that run entirely in your web browser. There is no account, no subscription and no payment. The site is funded by advertising.

Your notes are your responsibility

This is the most important clause here, so it is not buried. Everything you type is stored in your own browser's local storage on your own device. We never receive a copy. That means:

• We cannot recover anything you lose, because we never had it.
• Clearing your browsing data, using a private window, switching browser or switching device will lose or hide your notes.
• Browsers can and do evict local storage on their own, for example when a device is low on space.
• The site is not a backup service and must not be relied on as one.

If a note matters, use the download button and keep the file somewhere you control. You are solely responsible for keeping your own copies.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the site for anything unlawful, or to produce or store material that is unlawful where you are.
• Attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting.
• Scrape, mirror or republish the site, or present it as your own.
• Interfere with the advertising the site depends on, or misrepresent your relationship with us.

No warranty

The site is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change or be withdrawn, and the site may be unavailable at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Saugata Singh is not liable for any loss of data, loss of profits, or any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the site. Because the service is provided free of charge, any liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the amount you have paid to use it, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Intellectual property

The site's name, design, code and written content belong to Saugata Singh. Anything you write in an editor remains entirely yours. We claim no rights over it, and since it never reaches us, we could not exercise any.

Third-party names mentioned on this site belong to their respective owners. Nothing here is affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to them, and each page that names one says so directly.

Third-party links and advertising

Pages may link to other sites and carry advertising served by third parties. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. Following a link or an advert is at your own discretion.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change. The date at the top of the page will change with them, and continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections in your own country of residence.
