A checklist without the setup
Most to-do apps want an account before they will let you write down a single thing. This one does not. Type a task, press Enter, and it is on the list. Tick the checkbox when it is done, press the cross to remove one outright, and use Clear completed when the finished items start getting in the way. The counter along the bottom shows how many of them are done.
It is deliberately small. There are no projects, due dates, reminders, tags, priorities or collaborators, because a list you can start using in two seconds is a different tool from a system you have to maintain. If you need the system, use one of the real task managers. If you need to not forget four things this afternoon, this is enough.
Where the list is stored
In your browser's own storage, on this device. It never reaches a server, so nobody here can see it and there is no account to breach. The same trade applies as everywhere else on this site: the list does not sync to your phone, another browser will show an empty list, and clearing your browsing data deletes it for good. Other tools here
For notes rather than tasks, the notepad is the quickest way in, and the text editor gives you more room plus find and replace. For code there is a Notepad++ alternative, and for formatted documents a WordPad replacement.
